Abstract:
Objective:To explore the intervention effects of the group psychology counseling based on the Satir pattern on the compassion fatigue in nurses of operating room.
Methods:A total of 96 nurses in operating room were tutored using the group psychology counseling based on the Satir pattern.The compassion fatigue condition and job satisfaction of nurses were evaluated using the professional quality of life scale and Mueller/McCloskey satisfaction scale (MMSS) before and after intervention.
Results:The scores of the compassion satisfaction, occupational burnout, secondary traumatic stress and compassion fatigue in nurses of operating room after intervention were significantly lower than those before intervention (P < 0.01).The scores of all items in MMSS in nurses of operating room after intervention were significantly higher than those before intervention (P < 0.01).
Conclusions:The group psychology counseling based on the Satir pattern can effectively improve the compassion fatigue condition, physical and psychological health and job satisfaction degree.
