Abstract:
Objective: To explore the effect of systematic rehabilitation training on the cognitive function of patients with chronic schizophrenia in the rehabilitation home.
Methods: Eighty-nine patients who were admitted to the hospital in June 2013 and at the stationary phase were random divided into control group and integrated treatment group.The 42 patients in control group received atypical antipsychotics only and the 47 patients in the integrated treatment group received atypical antipsychotics combined with systematic rehabilitation training.Wisconsion Card Sorting Test was used to evaluate the cognitive function of the patients 6 months later.
Results: After 6 months,the Wisconsion Card Sorting Test results,the total mistake-making number and the continuing mistake-making number improved significantly in the integrated treatment group compared to those of the control group(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: The systematic rehabilitation training may improve the cognitive function of the schizophrenia patients.
