Abstract:
Objective:To compare the effects between uterus artery embolization and local excision in the treatment of uterine adenomyosis(AM) to provide the basis for clinical AM treatment.
Methods:Among the 56 AM patients,27 cases(A group) and 29 cases(B group) were treated with local excision and uterine artery embolization, respectively. All cases were followed up for 24 months, the long-and short-term efficacy between two groups were compared.
Results:The dysmenorrhea symptoms in two groups were improved after 6,12 and 24 months of operation, the difference of which was not statistically significant(
P>0.05).Compare with that before operation, the uterine volume in two groups were obviously shrinked(
P<0.01).
Conclusions:Both uterus artery embolization and abdominal local excision are effective mothods in treating AM,which can reserve uterus for providing the pregnancy chance in the reproductive age women.
