Abstract:
Objective:To explore the ultrasonography value and clinical characteristics of schistosomal appendicitis.
Methods:The clinical features and ultrasonographic signs in 41 schistosomal appendicitis cases diagnosed by pathology were retrospectively analyzed, whose were compared with 80 non-schistosomal appendicitis cases.
Results:The age of schistosomal appendicitis patient was higher than that in non-schistosomal appendicitis patients(
P<0.05).The canceration, perforation and suppuration rates in schistosomal appendicitis patients were higher than those in non-schistosomal appendicitis patients(
P<0.01).The direct and indirect ultrasonographic signs in schistosomal appendicitis patients were more plentiful than those in non-schistosomal appendicitis patients(
P<0.05 to
P<0.01).
Conclusions:The combination of ultrasonography and clinical characteristics can help the diagnosis and treatment of schistosomal appendicitis, which is beneficial to the operation and prognosis of patients.
