Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the expressions and significance of RECK and matrixmetalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in the cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
Methods: The expressions of RECK and MMP-9 in 20 cases of normal cervical tissue and 70 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma were detected using immune histochemical staining method.
Results: The positive rates of RECK protein expression in normal cervical tissue and cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissue were 95.00% and 31.43%,respectively,the difference of which was statistically significant(
P<0.01).Compared with the cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients without lymph node metastasis, the positive rate of RECK in patients with lymph node metastasis significantly decreased(
P<0.01).The positive rates of MMP-9 protein expression in normal cervical tissue and cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissue were 25.00% and 80.00%,respectively,the difference of which was statistically significant(
P<0.01).Compared with the cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients without lymph node metastasis, the positive rate of MMP-9 in patients with lymph node metastasis significantly increased(
P<0.01).The expression of RECK in cervical squamous carcinoma was negative correlation with the expression of MMP-9(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: The decreasing or absent of the RECK expression in cervical squamous carcinoma maybe though upregulate the expression of MMP-9 to promote the infiltration and metastasis of cervical squamous carcinoma. The RECK and MMP-9 are closely related to the infiltration and metastasis.
