Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the expression of breast cancer resistance protein(BCRP) in invasive breast cancer, and its correlation with the epithelial-mesenchymal transition-related protein.
Methods: The expressions of BCRP in 80 invasive breast cancer tissue specimens,40 peritumoral tissue specimens and 40 breast fibroadenoma tissue specimens were detected using immunohistochemistry. The relationship between the expression of BCRP and clinical pathological parameters was analyzed, and the correlations of the expression of BCRP with E-cadhein and N-cadhein were investigated.
Results: The positive expression rate of BCRP in invasive breast cancer tissue was 57.5%.The differences of the positive expression rate of BCRP in different histological grade, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging were not statistically significant(
P<0.05 to
P< 0.01).The expression rate of BCRP were positively and negatively with the expressions of HER-2 and N-cadherin,and E-cadherin,respectively(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: The BCRP may be involved in the occurrence and development in invasive breast cancer, and which is correlation with EMT.
