Abstract:
Objective: To understand the medical English curriculum demand of general practice medicine specialty undergraduates,in order to provide the reference in establishing the scientific and feasible teaching system of medical English curriculum.
Methods: The students were investigated using self-designed structured questionnaire by overall sampling method.The information was input into Epidata3.1,and analyzed using SPSS19.0.
Results: The differences of the motivations of "satisfying the demand of taking postgraduate examination or studying abroad" and "satisfying the occupational demand" in different students were significantly different(
P<0.05).The differences of the levels of "learning vocabulary" and "writing" in students with different English levels were significant difference(
P<0.05).The differences of the "mastering vocabulary","reading special literature" and "communicating with foreign teacher" of curriculum goals in the students,who thought that the medical English curriculum in general practice medicine specialty should be set as required course and elective course,were significantly different(
P<0.05).The differences of the "mastering vocabulary","translation" and "listening and speaking" of the medical English curriculum of general practice medicine specialty in the students,who thought that the medical English curriculum should be and not be set up",were significantly different(
P<0.05).
Conclusions: The medical English curriculum should be set up,the compulsory course with credit as restricting means,meeting with demand as guide and improving comprehensive ability of English as goal in general practice medicine specialty undergraduates.
