Abstract:
Objective: To compare the effects between Laceback and light elastic traction on dentition and orthodontics during orthodontic alignment.
Methods: Forty-four patients with extracting four first premolars were treated with MBT straight wire, and divided into the observation group and control group according to random digit table method. The observation group and control group were treated with Laceback and light elastic traction, respectively. The teeth movement and treatment time between two groups were compared.
Results: The moving distance of canine, tilt change of canine and treatment time in observation group were longer, less and longer than those in control group, respectively(
P<0.01).After treatment, the intercanine width in two groups increased, the canine rotation in control group decreased, and the difference of which was statistically significant(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: During aligning stage of canine traction,Laceback controlling canine is more stable, but its alignment time is longer.
