Abstract:
Objective: To explore the application effects of systematic dental extraction training in the teaching of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Methods: Twenty-four oral and maxillofacial surgery interns were divided into the routine training group and systematic dental extraction training group. The teeth with the same extraction difficulty were equally allocated to two groups. The tooth extraction time, and incidence rates of tooth extraction pain, intraoperative and postoperative complications between two groups were compared.
Results: Compared with the routine training group, the score of the dental extraction pain visual analogue scale, extraction time, and incidence rates of intraoperative and postoperative complications in systematic dental extraction training group significantly decreased(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: The systematic dental extraction training is helpful to improve the teaching quality and medical safety of oral and maxillofacial surgery interns.
