Study on the influencing factors of discharge readiness in patients with ischemic stroke

      Abstract:
ObjectiveTo determine the influencing factors of discharge readiness in patients with ischemic stroke.
MethodsA total of 381 ischemic stroke patients were investigated using general data questionnaire and readiness for hospital discharge scale, and the factors influencing the discharge readiness were analyzed.
ResultsIn the 381 patients, 224 (58.8%) patients were adequately ready for discharge, and 157 (41.2%) patients were inadequately ready for discharge.Univariate analysis showed that age, gender, educational level, living alone or not, having nursing care or not after discharge and hospital stay were related to the discharge readiness in ischemic stroke patients (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender, education level, having nursing care or not after discharge and hospital stay were the independent influencing factors of the discharge readiness in ischemic stroke patients (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
ConclusionsHealth care professionals should focus on the discharge readiness in older, female, less educated, unattended and long-hospitalized patients, and actively take personalized and targeted intervention measures to improve the discharge readiness of ischemic stroke patients.
