Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients treated with insulin, and its influencing factors.
MethodsA total of 200 T2DM patients treated with insulin were selected from a tertiary hospital in Hu'nan province using convenience sampling method.The patients were investigated using insulin therapy related quality of life(ITR-QOL), insulin treatment attitude scale(ITAS) and insulin treatment adherence questionnaire(ITAQ).
ResultsThe score of the ITR-QOL was(91.50±11.99) points.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the residence status, working status, daily injection number, treatment attitude and compliance were the influencing factors of the quality of life in T2DM patients treated with insulin(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and which explained 38.3% of all variation.
ConclusionsThe quality of life in T2DM patients treated with insulin was at the middle level.The medical personal should pay attention the T2DM patients treated with insulin, provide targeted support and interventions to improve the quality of life.
