Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between nosocomial infection and stroke recurrence in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS).
MethodsA cohort study was used to collect medical data on 121 AIS patients, and the recurrence of stroke was collected by follow-up.Cox regression was used to analyze the association between nosocomial infection and stroke recurrence.
ResultsIn 121 patients, the prevalence of nosocomial infection was 19.8%(95%CI: 0.127-0.269), the incidence of stroke recovery was 26.4%(95%CI: 0.185-0.343), and the HR of stroke recurrence caused by nosocomial infection was 6.485(95%CI: 2.984-14.091).
ConclusionsNosocomial infection in AIS patients may be an independent risk factor for stroke recurrence.
