Abstract:
Objective To explore the teaching Methods and implementation effects of ideological and political theory education in Fundamentals of Nursing practice course.
Methods A total of 201 undergraduate nursing students from grade 2021 were investigated.The ideological and political theory education based on Gibbs reflective learning was designed and implemented in the Fundamentals of Nursing practice course.The teaching effects were assessed by the nursing ideology and politics teaching questionnaire, active learning state and critical thinking disposition inventory-Chinese version.
Results After the implementation of teaching, the total average score of the ideological and political theory education in the basic nursing practice course was (105.62±5.45) points, and the scores of goal idea, teaching staff, curriculum resource, teaching implementation and teaching effect were high.The scores and total scores of learning driving force, learning goal, deep learning, controlled learning and solid learning in the learning initiative scale of students after implementation were higher than those before teaching implementation(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The scores and total scores of seeking truth, open mind, analytical ability, systematic ability, self-confidence, curiosity and cognitive maturity in the critical thinking ability(Chinese version) scale after implementation were higher than those before teaching implementation(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
Conclusions The ideological and political theory education based on Gibbs reflective learning in the Fundamentals of Nursing practice course can help improve the effects of ideological and political theory education and students' learning initiative, and cultivate students' critical thinking ability.
