Abstract:
Objective To explore the mediating effect of psychological congruence between stigma and social support in patients with thyroid cancer after surgery.
Methods A total of 248 postoperative thyroid cancer patients were selected for the study, and investigated using the general data questionnaire, psychological congruence scale, social impact scale(stigma) and social support scale.
Results The score of stigma, psychological congruence, and social support in 248 postoperative patients with thyroid cancer were (45.91±6.13) points, (49.38±7.46) points and (38.70±5.63) points, respectively. The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that the total scores of psychological congruence and social support were negatively correlated with the total score of stigma(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and the psychological congruence score was positively correlated with the score of social support(P < 0.01).The psychological congruence played partial mediating effect between social support and stigma, and the mediating effect value was 13.7%.
Conclusions The psychological congruence of thyroid cancer patients after surgery is at a low level, and the social support and stigma are at a medium level. The clinical attention should be paid to the social support of patients, and personalized cognitive intervention should be carried out to improve the level of psychological coherence of patients, so as to reduce the stigma of thyroid cancer patients after surgery.
