Abstract:
Objective To investigate the application value of artificial intelligence (AI) assisted diagnosis and treatment system in the improvement of thoracic surgery clinical post competency of five-year clinical medicine undergraduates.
Methods A total of 60 five-year undergraduate students majoring in clinical medicine who practiced in thoracic surgery were selected as the research objects. The AI assisted diagnosis and treatment system was used to cooperate with the practice teaching, and test questions and questionnaires were conducted before and after the practice teaching, and the self-controlled research was conducted. By filling the questionnaire, the students made self-evaluation of their competency in clinical posts, and assessed their satisfaction with the teaching methods and contents in practice. At the same time, a questionnaire survey with the same content was carried out by intern teacher to evaluate the change of clinical post competency of medical students before and after practice.
Results The results of student self-evaluation and teacher evaluation showed that the teaching method based on AI assisted diagnosis and treatment system improved the medical students' clinical basic ability, doctor-patient communication ability, medical professionalism, literature retrieval ability and team cooperation ability (P < 0.05). The basic medical knowledge and scientific research ability were improved to some extent, but there was no statistical significance (P > 0.05). The results of the satisfaction survey showed that 91.7% (55/60) of students were satisfied with the teaching method and content of internship.
Conclusions The teaching method based on AI assisted diagnosis and treatment system can improve the learning enthusiasm and interest of internship students, and help to improve the clinical post competency of thoracic surgery for five-year clinicine medicine undergraduates.
