Abstract:
Objective To investigate the correlation between waist triglyceride index (WTI), body roundness index (BRI) and vascular aging.
Methods A total of 435 community residents aged >45 years old of physical examination in Dongguan Community Health Service Center were selected, and divided into the vascular aging group (positive difference) and vascular anti-aging group (negative or no difference) according to the difference between vascular age and actual age. The general data comparison, biochemical index analysis and vascular age calculation in two groups were performed. The rank correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between WTI, BRI and vascular age and actual age difference, and the association between WTI, BRI and vascular aging was analyzed by logistic regression model.
Results The results of rank correlation analysis showed that the difference between vascular age and actual age was positively correlated with WTI and BRI (P < 0.01). The results of multivariate logistic regression model showed that the WTI and BRI were the independent risk factors of vascular aging (P < 0.01).
Conclusions In the elderly population of community, the WTI and BRI are closely related to vascular age, and important risk factors of vascular aging.
