Abstract:
Objective: To understand the status quo of emotional intelligence,feedback seeking behavior and individual career management of newly graduated nurses,and verify the mediating role of feedback seeking behavior in emotional intelligence and individual career management.
Methods: Two hundred and twelve newly graduated nurses were questionnaire with general information questionnaire,emotional intelligence scale,feedback seeking behavior scale,and individual career management scale.
Results: The total score of emotional intelligence of newly graduated nurses was (83.28±14.22) points,the total score of feedback seeking behavior was (57.31±12.15) points,and the total score of individual career management was (50.00±7.80) points.There were significantly positive correlations among the emotional intelligence,feedback seeking behavior,and individual career management of newly graduated nurses (
P<0.01).The mediating effect test showed that feedback seeking behavior played a partly mediating role between emotional intelligence and individual career management,which accounted for 38.46% of the total effect.
Conclusions: The individual career management of newly graduated nurses is at an above average level,and still needs to be improved.Nursing managers should pay attention to the cultivation of emotional intelligence of newly graduated nurses,encourage nurses to actively feedback to obtain organizational information,and further improve their individual career management ability.
