Abstract:
Objective To explore the application effect of palliative care programs in patients with colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy.
Methods A total of 80 inpatients with colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy in Fuyang People′s Hospital from January to December 2024 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into 2 groups.The palliative care group(n=40 cases) received palliative care intervention, while the control group(n=40 cases) received conventional nursing intervention.The symptom scores of the patients, the care readiness of the caregivers, and the quality of life of the patients were compared before and after the intervention.
Results After the intervention, the scores of the five symptom clusters, the score of the degree of impact, the score of each dimension of care readiness and quality of life in the palliative group were all lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and both groups were lower than those before the intervention, with a higher degree of reduction in the palliative group (P < 0.05).
Conclusions The nurse-patient collaborative nursing program based on palliative care can comprehensively improve the symptoms of patients and reduce the degree of impact of symptoms on life.Improve the care readiness of caregivers and the quality of life of patients.
