Abstract:
Objective To explore the practical effect of integrating medical humanities and ideological and political elements into the standardized training for resident physicians of cardiovascular medicine department under the perspective of cultivating virtue and nurturing talents.
Methods One hundred trainees who were rotating in the department of cardiovascular medicine of The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University for standardized training from May 2022 to August 2023 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 50 trainees in each group.The control group received routine teaching.The observation group, on the basis of routine teaching, deeply explored the humanities and ideological and political elements related to heart diseases and integrated them into the entire teaching process.The evaluation was based on the final examination results of the standardized training trainees, the scores of the humanistic quality assessment form, and the subjective cognitive feelings of the trainees.
Results Compared with the control group, the trainees in the observation group had higher scores in theory, skill test and scores of humanistic quality evaluation form after rotating in cardiovascular medicine (P < 0.01).The trainees in the observation group had better feelings in terms of improving professional identity, medical ethics and style, clinical ability, communication skill, and patriotism than the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusions Under the perspective of cultivating virtue and nurturing talent, integrating the medical humanities and ideological and political elements into the standardized training for resident physicians in the cardiovascular medicine department can enhance the ideological realm of the trainees, stimulate their enthusiasm for learning, improve their comprehensive clinical abilities, and cultivate outstanding socialist physicians with both virtue and talent.
