Abstract:
Objective: To estimate the value of spiral CT in diagnosis and treatment of aortic dissection.
Methods: The imaging data of fifteen cases of aortic dissection were analyzed retrospectively.
Results: On unenhanced CT scan, the imaging findings showed dilation of the aorta, linear hypoattenuating intima or intimal calcifications in the lumen and egg-like calcification on the aortic wall.On enhanced CT scan, double lumens, intimal flap, shape and location of the rupture, extension of the involved aorta and its branches were demonstrated.
Conclusions: Spiral CT,especially multi-detected CT,is effective in diagnosis of aortic dissection and is of great value in guiding clinical treatment.
