Abstract:
Objective: To summarize the experience in diagnosis and surgical treatment of pulmonary sequestration(PS).
Methods: The clinical data of seven cases of PS were retrospectively analyzed.
Results: Before operation, pulmonary cyst syndrome was diagnosed in 4 cases, pulmonary sequestration in 2 cases and bronchogenic carcinoma in 1 case. Anomalous artery from the thoracic aorta was detected in 3 cases, from the abdominal aorta in 2 cases, from the intercostal artery in 1 case and from the diaphragmatic artery in 1 case. All the cases received surgical operation and no one died.
Conclusions: The incidence of pulmonary sequestration is low and the clinical manifestations are not specific,so it's frequently misdiagnosed or miss-diagnosed. The main therapy for PS is surgery.
