Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate a new psychological nursing therapy happy factor stimulation in elevating the quality of life of the elderly patients who had retired from work.
Methods: A total of 50 elderly patients with an age of over 80 in the gerontology department of our hospital were enrolled in the study.The happy factors we collected were their achievements in their early life.We stimulated their pride and joy by chatting with them about them.Their physiological and psychological reactions were observed before and after the therapy,and their quality of life was evaluated.
Results: There was a significant difference in appraisal score before and after the happy factor-stimulation therapy(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: Happy factor stimulation therapy is simple and effective in elevating the life quality of the elderly patients who have retired from work
