Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the expressions of Ezrin protein and E-cadherin in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) and their correlations with the invasion and metastasis of tumor. Methods:The expressions of Ezrin protein and E-cad in 76 ESCC tissue specimens and 30 normal tissue specimens were detected by SP method. Results:The abnormal expression rates of Ezrin protein and E-cadherin in ESCC tissue and normal tissue were 78.95% 59.21% and 26.67% 6.67%,respectively,the differences of two indicators were statistical significance(P0.01).The differences between the abnormal expression of Ezrin protein and the lymph node metastasis and tissue differentiation degree of esophageal squamous carcinoma were statistical significance(P0.05 and P0.01),the differences between the abnormal expression of E-cadherin and the invasion depth, lymph node metastasis and tissue differentiation degree of esophageal squamous carcinoma were statistical significance(P0.05 to P0.01).There was a positive correlation between the abnormal expression of Ezrin protein and E-cadherin in ESCC(P0.05).The positive expression rate of Ezrin protein in tissue specimens with abnormal E-cadherin expression was significantly higher than that in tissue specimens with normal E-cadherin expression(P0.05).The lymph node metastasis rate in 40 tissue specimens with abnormal E-cadherin and Ezrin protein expressions was 70%,no lymph node metastasis in 11 tissue specimens with normal E-cadherin and Ezrin protein expressions was found, the difference of which was statistical significance(P0.01).Conclusions:The abnormal expressions of Ezrin protein and E-cadherin in ESCC are positively correlated relationship. The combining detection of Ezrin protein and E-cadherin can help to judge the metastasis and prognosis of ESCC.
