Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the sex hormone levels of infertile males with oligospermia or azoospermia and its clinical significance. Methods:The semen of 57 cases with oligospermia(oligospermia group),21 cases with azoospermia(azoospermia group) and 30 cases with rormal sperm count(control group) were analysed. The serum levels of testosterone(T),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH) and prolactin(P) of all cases were determined by chemiluminescent immunoassay. Results:The levels of FSH and LH in the azoospermia and oligospermia group were higher than that in control group(P0.05-P0.01).The FSH and LH levels of the azoospermia group were significantly higher than that in oligospermia group(P0.01).The level of PRL in azoospermia group was higher than those in the control and oligospermia group(P0.01).The T levels of the azoospermia and oligospermia group were significantly lower than that in control group(P0.01).Conclusions:The serum levels of sex hormone of infertile males with oligospermia or azoospermia can help guide diagnosis and treatment and prognosis.
