Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the prevalence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) among married women in Mingguang countryside.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 350 married women less than 60 years old in Mingguang area.
Results: The incidence rate of SUI was 23.14%.90.12% of the patients with SUI did not have any knowledge of SUI,and only about 4.94% of the patients with SUI had seen the doctor.There were no correlation between the incidence rate of SUI and the age of menarche,menstruation cycle,labor times,abortion times,manual labor strength,or nutrition.The incidence rate of SUI was significantly higher among menopause women than that of unmenopause women.Women who delivered at home or had parturient canal injury had a higher incidence rate of SUI,compared with normal women.Early manual labor after parturition and administration of contraceptive pills increased the danger of developing SUI.
Conclusions: SUI is common among women in countryside.Delivery at home,parturient canal injury,early manual labor after parturition,administration of contraceptive pills and menopause are the etiological factors for SUI.
