Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the causes and management of pregnancy-associated pancreatitis(PAP).
Methods: The clinical data of 19 cases of PAP from 2001 to 2009 were analyzed retrospectively. All the cases received conservative therapy.
Results: All the 19 cases were cured. No complication,abortion or death occurred. Pregnancy was terminated in 4 patients,for the fetus in 2 cases died in the womb at admission,1 case was performed induced labor and 1 case cesarean section. One case with 38 pregnancy weeks and 1 case with 39 weeks were performed cesarean section when the fetus presented urgent condition in the uterus.
Conclusions: Hyperlipidemia and diseases of biliary tract are the frequent causes of pregnancy-associated pancreatitis in the second and third trimester. Terminating pregnancy in proper time may help to improve the efficacy and prognosis.
