Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the susceptibility of
Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains isolated from male patients with gonorrhea to antibiotics.
Methods: Disk diffusion method was used to test the sensitivity of 57 strains of
Neisseria gonorrhoeae to 7 antibiotics.Pencillinase producing
Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG) was confirmed by nitrocefin disk.
Results: The sensitivity rates of
Neisseria gonorrhoeae to pencillin, tetracycline and ciprofloxacin was 12.3%,17.5% and 28.1%,respectively.The resistant rates of
Neisseria gonorrhoeae to ceftizoxime, ceftazidime and ceftriaxone was 5.3%,3.5% and 5.3%,respectively.No strains were resistant to Spectinomycin.Of the 57 strains,14 were found to be PPNG(24.6%) and 16 were suspected to be TRNG(28.1%).
Conclusions: Neisseria gonorrhea is highly resistant to pencillin, tetracycline and ciprofloxacin,so these drugs should be exclude for treatment of gonorrheae.Spectinomycin and the third generation cephalosporins may be selected as the first-line drugs in treating
Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The strains between sensitivity and resistance should be noticed,in case that they will produce serious resistance.
