Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the diagnosis and removal of tracheobronchial foreign bodies in children.
Methods: The diagnosis and removal of tracheobronchial foreign bodies in 45 children were reviewed and analysed.
Results: Some foreign bodies such as pen-caps,plastic whistles,melon seeds and others were successfully removed in 41 cases;pre-operative expectoration occurred in 4 cases.
Conclusions: Early diagnosis and removal of the foreign bodies,fully pre-operative preparation,and suitable ways of operation are the key to success.
