Abstract:
Objective: To explore the diagnostic value of high frequency ultrasound in testicular microlithiasis(TM) and its clinical significance.
Methods: The sonography and the stream parameters of the testicular artery of 30 cases of testicular microlithiasis were retrospectively analyzed and 30 healthy persons acted as controls.
Results: Of the 30 cases of testicular microlithiasis,22 cases were involved with both of the testes and 8 cases with only one testis.Sonographic features showed rare or diffuse high-echo dots in the testicular parenchyma with a diameter of 1-2 mm,devoid of shadow. There was no significant difference in blood stream parameters of testicular artery between TM group and the control group(
P>0.05).
Conclusions: High frequency ultrasound can accurately diagnose TM.It is the first-choice of method.
