Abstract:
Objective:To study the antimicrobial resistance of clinical isolates from Intensive Care Unit(ICU).
Methods:The specimens of the patients who were in Bengbu Second People's Hospital from Nov.2006 to Jun.2009 were cultured to detect the pathogens.K-B agar diffusion method was used to judge drug sensitivity.Phenotypic confirmatory test was used to detect ESBLs.
Results:A total of 33 clinical isolates,including 29 strains (87.9%)of Gram-positive bacilli and 4 strains (12.1%)of Gram-negative bacilli,were collected.
Pseudomonas and
E.coli was the main microorganism. The most active agent against Gram-negative organisms was Cefoperazone/sulbactam and Vancomycin was the most effective on Gram-positive cocci.
Conclusions:The Gram-nagative bacilli was the major pathogen isolated from ICU patients; cefoperazone/sulbactam was the most effective.Pathogens and drug sensitivity monitoring should be enhanced to give guidance for rational use of antibiotics.
