Abstract:
Objective To analyze the effects of Jigsaw teaching model based on virtual learning community on improving the deep learning ability of undergraduate midwifery students.
Methods Fifty-nine midwifery students in 2021 were divdied into the control group (29 students taught with Jigsaw teaching model) and observation group (30 students taught with Jigsaw teaching model based on virtual learning community). The teaching effect was evaluated through the course assessment performance, self-compiled course satisfaction evaluation form and deep learning ability questionnaire.
Results The usual score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05), and there was no statistical sinificance in the theoretical and comprehensive scores between two groups (P > 0.05). The scores of cooperation ability, critical thinking ability, independent learning ability and innovative thinking ability in the observation group were higher than those in control group (P < 0.05), but there was no statistical significance in the communication ability and learning perseverance between two groups (P > 0.05). There was no statistical significance in their satisfaction with teaching level and learning evaluation process (P > 0.05), but the differences of their satisfaction with teaching resources and learning harvest were statistically significant between two groups (P < 0.05).
Conclusions The Jigsaw cooperative learning based on virtual learning community can improve the students' daily performance, and promote the improvement of students' deep learning ability, such as collaboration ability, independent learning ability, critical thinking ability and innovation ability.
