Abstract:
Objective: To observe the effect of dual-tube continuous negative pressure drainage on patients receiving radical mastectomy.
Methods: Forty-three patients with breast cancer underwent radical mastectomy, and the dual-tube continuous negative pressure drainage was applied.Subcutaneous fluid collection and skin flap necrosis were observed after the operation.
Results: Primary healing was reached in 35 cases;subcutaneous fluid collection was detected in 5 cases,3 of which were in the axilla and 2 in the parasternal;skin flap necrosis occurred in 3 cases, which was mainly in the middle edge of the incision;2 cases suffered from both fluid collection and skin flap necrosis.
Conclusions: After radical mastectomy,dual-tube continuous negative pressure drainage can reduce the subcutaneous fluid collection and skin flap necrosis.
