Abstract:
Objective: To assess the clinical value of high-frequency ultrasonography in diagnosis of complications after mammoplasty.
Methods: Thirty cases of complications following mammoplasty were examined by ultrasonography.The clinical manifestation and sonogram characteristics of the cases were analyzed.
Results: According to the results of high-frequency ultrasonographic examination,the complication was caused by hemorrhage and infection in 4 cases,prosthesis leakage in 18 cases,prosthesis sclerosis in 12 cases,peplos contraction in 9 cases,insertion rupture in 4 cases and pectoralis major injury in 3 cases.All the complications were verified by operation.
Conclusions: High-frequency ultrasonographic examination is safe,effective and convenient in diagnosing the complications of mammoplasty.
