Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expressions of ezrin protein and the invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).
Methods: The expression of ezrin protein in 76 cases of ESCC and 30 cases of normal esophageal squamous epithelia was detected by using S-P method of immunohistochemical staining, and the results were analyzed with reference to the clinicopathological features.
Results: The abnormal expression rates of ezrin protein in ESCC and normal esophageal squamous epithelia were 78.95%(60/76) and 26.67%(8/30),respectively(
P<0.01).The abnormal expression of ezrin protein was related to the cell differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis(
P<0.05 and
P<0.01) in 76 cases of ESCC.
Conclusions: The expression of ezrin protein is up-regulated in ESCC,and the overexpression is related to the cell differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis.
