Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the expression of STAT3 in breast carcinoma and its relation with prognosis.
Methods: The expression of STAT3 in 30 normal breast tissues and 76 cases of breast carcinoma was determined using immunohistochemical staining S-P method, and its association with prognosis was analyzed.
Results: The positive expression of STAT3 in normal breast tissues(23.3%) was significantly lower than that in breast carcinoma(65.8%) (
P<0.01).The expression of STAT3 in breast carcinoma was significantly associated with the surgical stage, differentiation and lymphatic invasion(
P<0.05).
Conclusions: High expression of STAT3 is associated with poor prognosis of breast carcinoma.
