Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the expression of breast cancer metastasis suppressor 1(BRMS1) and its clinical significance in gastric carcinoma.
Methods: The expression of BRMS1 in gastric carcinoma tissues(
n=60) and para-cancerous tissues(
n=60) was detected by immunohistochemiscal method.The relationship between the immunohistochemiscal results and the clinic pathologic parameters were analyzed.
Results: The expression rate of BRMS1 in gastric carcinoma tissues(35.0%)was significantly lower than that in para-cancerous tissues(75.0%)(
P<0.01);there was the correlation between the expression of BRMS1 and the degree of differentiation,lymph node metastasis and clinical stages(
P<0.01), there was no correlation between the expression of BRMS1 and patient sex,age,infiltrative depth and size of tumor (
P>0.05).
Conclusions: The BRMS1 protein was lower-expression in gastric carcinoma,which may be related with the tumor genesis,invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma.
