Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics,pathological features and surgical indications of polypoid lesions of gallbladder(PLG).
Methods: One hundred and four cases of PLG confirmed by pathological examination were analyzed retrospectively.
Results: PLG were more frequently found in middle aged people.They presented no special clinical features.Cholesterol PLG was the most common PLG.Most Cholesterol PLG was multiple foci with a mean diameter of <5 mm,while adenomas PLG presented single focus with a mean diameter of >10 mm.
Conclusions: The patients older than 50 years with single polyp lesion or complicated with gallbladder stone should resort to surgical treatment.Patients with obvious clinical symptoms which have influenced their normal lives should receive surgical intervention.Patients with no symptoms should be followed up periodically.
