Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the feasibility of two-men colonoscopy performance switching of colonoscopic technique to one-man performance, and to assess its advantages.
Methods:All the patients undergoing one-man colonoscopy performance in our hospital were enrolled in this study. The success rate, cercal intubation rate, time required for cercal intubation and incidence of complications were observed.
Results:The success rate of one-man colonoscopy performance was 96.3%,and the mean time for examination was between 5 to 10 min.None of the patients experienced lesion residue, asenterobrosis or enterorrhagia.
Conclusions:Our study suggests that one-man colonoscopy performance is simple and safe, causing less discomfort or pain for patients. This operation is clinically promising and worth popularizing.
