Abstract:
Objective: To study the relationship between the clinical manifestations and pathologic type of primary glomerular disease, as well as the the complications of percutaneous renal biopsy and its significance.
Methods: The clinical manifestications, pathologic type and safety of percutaneous renal biopsy in 97 cases of primary glomerular disease were analyzed.
Results: Among the 97 cases of primary glomerular diseases, 30 IgA nephropathy, 26 mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, 10 membranous nephropathy, 14 focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, 2 IgM nephropathy, 1 endocapillary proliferative glomerulonephritis, 8 minimal change nephrosis, 4 proliferative sclerosing glomerulomephritis and 2 crescentic glomerulonephritis.Complications occurred in five cases, three had naked eye hematuria, two perirenal hematoma, and no other serious complications.
Conclusions: Combination of pathologic and clinical examination help to accurate diagnosis and therapy.Though the percutaneous renal biopsy has some slight complication, it is still a safe, simple and convenient diagnostic procedure.
