Abstract:
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of L-carnitine combined with hemodialysis in the treatment of uremic peripheral neuropathy.
Methods:Seventy-six patients with uremic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into the control group and observation group(38 cases each group). The control group and observation group were treated with ordinary hemodialysis and L-carnitine combined with hemodialysis, respectively. The curative efficacy and nerve conduction velocity between two groups were compared.
Results:Compared with before treatment, the sensory nerve conduction velocity in observation group significantly increased(
P<0.01),and the level of which was significantly higher than that in control group after treatment(
P<0.01).The total effective rate in observation group(86.8%) was significantly higher than that in control group(57.9%)(
P<0.01).
Conclusions:The treatment of uremic patients with peripheral neuropathy with L-carnitine combined with hemodialysis can significantly improve the symptom of patients, which is effective and simple.
