Abstract:
Objective: To study the histomorphology of the acellular materials from rabbits' sciatic nerve and to provide materials for the study of tissue engineering peripheral nerve.
Methods: The bilateral sciatic nerve of 36 healthy adult New Zealander rabbits was cut 2 cm and acellular materials were prepared by traditional freeze thaw, improved freeze thaw and no-freeze thaw;the above materials were examined by configuration, light microscope and electron microscope;base membrane pipe lamina composition was observed and analyzed.
Results: The cell composition of the materials made by the improved method was thoroughly removed, the nerve base membrane was retained and the reservation of lamina composition was intact.
Conclusions: The acellular materials prepared by improved freeze thaw method may be ideal for building tissue engineering nerve.
