Abstract:
Objective:To study the characteristics of self-concept of adolescencents in non-public schools and the related factors.
Methods:Seven hundred and fifty-two students in a non-public school in Hefei city were included in the study.All the students were interviewed with the Piers-Harris children's self-concept scale (PHCSS) and self-made questionnaires.The data were analyzed with SPSS 13.0 statistical package.
Results:The scores of behavior,intelligence,anxiety,gregarious,happiness and the total scales had significant differences between the adolescencents in non-public schools and norm children (
P<0.01).The self-concept scores were related with study pressure,relationship with parents,economic level,parenting style,the school life,and so on.
Conclusions:The self-concept of adolescencents in non-public schools is related to factors such as families,schools and so on.
