Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the potential usefulness of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the preoperative evaluation endometrial carcinoma.
Methods: Twenty-eight patients with endometrial carcinoma that were confirmed by pathological examination after diagnostic curettage underwent real-time gray scale contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination. And the results were compared with postoperative pathological examination results.
Results: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound exist in the consistency with pathological examination in the myometrial invasion degree of endometrial cancer (
P<0.01). The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasound detecting myometrial invasion and deep myometrial invasion of endometrial carcinoma were 90.0%, 75.0%, 90.0%, 75.0%, 85.7% and 100.0%, 82.6%, 55.6%, 100.0%, 85.7%.
Conclusions: Preoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound is helpful to the diagnosis of degree of myometrial invasion in endometrial carcinoma.
