Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the short-term therapeutic effect of laser therapy combined with high ligation of the great saphenous vein on the treatment of varicose veins in the lower extremities.Methods:Endovenous Semiconductor laser therapy combined with high ligation of the great saphenous vein was adopted for treatment of varicose veins in the lower extremities.Results:The operation time was 45-70 min for each limb;The number of incisions was 2-5 in each limb;The hospital stay after operation was 2-4 day.Postoperatively,subcutaneous bleeding occurred in 2 limbs,skin burn in 1 limb,subcutaneous sclerosis in 2 limbs and saphenous nerve injury in 1 limb.Among the patients,6 (7 limbs) were followed up for 3-6 months,during which time no recurrence was found.Conclusions:Laser therapy combined with high ligation of the great saphenous vein is effective for treatment of varicose veins in the lower extremities.
