Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of budesonide combined with ambroxol hydrochloride in treatment of newborns with aspiration pneumonia.Methods:Fifty-one cases of newborns with aspiration pneumonia were randomly divided into observation group(31 cases) and control group(20 cases). Both groups received the routine therapies including warm-keeping,keeping the airway unobstructed, use of antibiotics and oxygen, and support procedures. The patients in observation groupwere administered aerosol inhalation of budesonide combined with ambroxol hydrochloride in addition. The clinical symptoms and the average hospital stay of the two groups were observed. Results:The total effective rate was 90.3% and 55.0% in the observation groupand the control grouprespectively. The difference between the two groups was remarkable(P<0.01); the duration of frothing at lips, dyspnea, cyanosis, rale and hospital stay of the observation groupwas significantly shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions:Aerosol inhalation of budesonide combined with ambroxol hydrochloride can obviously improve the clinical symptoms and cut down the hospital stay of the newborns with aspiration pneumonia. It is a safe and effective therapy.
