Abstract: Objective:To observe the effects of pipe logo on the patients with safety management in intensive care unit(ICU). Methods:The pipe safety, mistake accidents and the time of administration of 80 cases with no pipe logo during Dec. 2009 to Jul. 2010 and 123 cases with pipe logo during Aug. 2010 to Aug. 2011 were retrospectively analysed. Results:The pipe jams, pipeline connection error and error rates of the cases with no pipe logo were higher than that of cases with pipe logo(P0. 05 to P0. 01). The time of emergency administration of the cases with pipe logo were longer than that of cases with no pipe logo(P0.01). The pipe pressure distortion rates of all cases had no statistical difference(P0.05). Conclusions:The application of pipe logo in ICU patients can effectively improve the pipe safety, reduce the nursing mistake and the time of administration and improve nursing work efficiency.
