Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the conservative treatment and therapeutic results of longitudinal fractures of the posterior teeth.
Methods: Twenty-seven patients were all treated by fixing with ligature, root canal therapy and finally crown restoration.
Results: All the patients were followed up for 2 years. The teeth were extracted due to failure in two patients while 25 patients were treated conservatively and effectively with the rate of success at 92.59%.
Conclusions: With fixed early and appropriate treatment, the teeth can be conserved effectively and have good masticatory function.
