Abstract:
To investigate the effect of oral continuous lower suction on patients receiving orotracheal intubation. Methods:Forty patients using orotracheal intubation were randomly divided into two groups:the observation group and the control group. The. ontrol group received routine suction and the observation group received oral continuous lower suction. Results:The ventilator-associated pneumonia incidencethe nursing care hourhospital stay and medical cost in the observation group were significantly lessthan those in the control group(p0.01)Conclusions:For patients who are receiving orotracheal intubation and accompanied withexcessive oral secretions oral continuous lower suction is elfective in reducing the ventilatorssociated pneumonia incidence oralmucosal injurynursing workload and shortening the hospital stay.
