Abstract:
Objective: To observe the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) during liver regeneration process after partial-hepatectomy in rats.
Methods: ABC immunohistochemistry methods and anti-PCNA monoclonal antibody were used to reveal the expression of PCNA in the rat liver slice.
Results: The number of PCNA positive cells and the grey degree numerical value increased remarkably 24 h after hepatectomy, and the expression rate of heptocytes increased to peak valuer 48 h after hepatectomy.
Conclusions: The PCNA strong positive cells show regular change afterhepatectomy, which suggests that the remained liver cells can regenerate.
