Abstract: Objective:To investigate the expressions of p16 and HER-2 proteins in human gastric carcinoma tissues and its correlation with clinical pathological factors.Methods:The expressions of p16 and HER-2 proteins in 60 cases of gastric carcinoma and 30 cases of normal gastric tissues were detected using streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemistry method,and the relation between the expressions and the clinicopathological parameter of gastric carcinoma was analyzed.Results:The positive rates of p16 in human gastric carcinoma and normal tissues were 21.7% and 73.3%,respectively(P0.01).The expression of p16 protein in gastric carcinoma tissues with no lymphatic metastasis and stageⅠ-Ⅱ TNM were higher than those with lymphatic metastasis(P0.05) and stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ TNM(P0.05 and P=0.05);The positive rates of HER-2 in human gastric carcinoma and normal tissues were 38.3% and 0.00%,respectively(P0.01).The expression of HER-2 protein in gastric carcinoma tissues with high,middle differentiation,remote metastasis and stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ TNM were respectively higher than those with no low,no differentiation,no remote metastasis or stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ TNM(P0.05-P0.01).The expression of p16 protein was not correlated with HER-2 protein in human gastric carcinoma tissues(P0.05).Conclusions:Loss-expression of p16 and over-expression of HER-2 may be correlated with the metastasis and development of gastric carcinogenesis.Both of them are of great significance in evaluating the biological behavior and prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
